
Heather Knight introduces a robotic stand-up comedian — it gathers audience feedback (using software co-developed with Scott Satkin and Varun Ramakrishna at CMU) and tunes its act as the crowd responds.
Heather Knight seems to keep the schedule that would be Alice in Wonderland rabbit look as if in slow motion. She holds her doctorate in robotics at Carnegie Mellon Robotics Institute and works of Marilyn Monrobot Labs in New York. She has also done work for NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory, applications and design of sensors Aldebaran Robotics NAO in the project, and is a graduate of MIT Media Lab.
Anyway, in the midst of all this, or perhaps because of this, it makes an amazing amount of work exploring the possibilities for interactive robots to teach us a lot about our own behavior and motivations. And it does so through a robot stand-up comedy:
