At the Sprint event on Day 1 of CTIA 2011, a lovely humid Tuesday in Orlando, Florida, the stage was a round staircase leading up to two pedestals covered with golden sheets until whammo! They were thusly revealed. This is a 3G/4G Android tablet with dual cameras, video call functionality, high definition video capture on the back, a Flash-enabled email. On this 7-inch screen you be able to use the Scribe, a pen device that’ll work out of the box with this tablet – does this seem familiar to you? It’s because this is the US version of the HTC Flyer.

We got the opportunity to see this tablet back at Mobile World Congress 2011 under the alternate branding HTC Flyer, here it’ll be called the EVO View 4G and as far as we know, it’ll essentially be the same device save for the obvious carrier gut changes, but for details you can pretty much look back to the MWC 2011 release as far as we’ve been told at this keynote.
We’re going to land cruise over to the hands-on area to grab some close looks at this and the other fabulously new hardware revealed at this fashionable event. Hopefully we’ll be able to work with the screen and hold the device this time, as the device, or the Euro version at least, wasn’t quite prepared for a hands-on. Here’s hoping!
